From the Workshop: One Year In (And What a Year It’s Been!)
Well… it’s been a minute.
My last From the Workshop post was May of last year. Yikes!! 😅
To say we’ve been busy would be an understatement.
A New Adventure: jBloom Permanent Jewelry 🔗
In the midst of candle pouring and dreaming up new scents, I added something new to my world — selling permanent jewelry and fashion jewelry with jBloom — and I am loving every minute of it.
I’ve been:
- Meeting new people
- Making extra income
- Earning discounts on beautiful jewelry
- Hosting the most fun pop-up parties
And the best part? I get to bring my Benson Wood & Wicks candles to all my jewelry events. Jewelry + candles = the perfect combo. It’s been such a blessing to expand in this way and connect with so many of you outside my immediate circle. 🫶🏻
We Moved… and Oh My Goodness🏡
We also moved in September.
Let’s just say… if you know, you know. IYKYK. 😅
Everything that could possibly go wrong in the real estate process went wrong. It felt like a masterclass in patience, paperwork, and perseverance. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right?
The process still isn’t completely over. We’ve got renters in the old house and plan to sell this upcoming spring. Honestly, I could probably write a best-selling novel on 2025 alone.
BUT — we are absolutely loving our new home.
We now have a little slice of country on the best street ever 🦋. We’re counting down the days until summer ☀️ so we can enjoy our gorgeous backyard and spend time outside with neighbors. The few we’ve met during hibernation season have been wonderful. I have a feeling this summer is going to be special.
The Woodworker Is (Temporarily) On Hiatus
Now for the workshop update…
The woodworker and his workshop are currently on hiatus. We don’t have a full shop setup yet for all his toys (and by toys, I mean serious woodworking equipment 😉), so nothing new has been created recently — except some amazing custom display shelves for my vendor events. Gosh, he is talented.
The goal? Build the new shop this spring.
So… hint hint… buy my candles, boards, and jewelry to help fund that dream! 😂
Boutique News + One Year Anniversary
I’m so excited to share that Benson Wood & Wicks candles are now in a boutique (Rustic Magnolia) in downtown Jordan, and I’m hopeful we’ll soon be in one in Savage as well. There is something so special about seeing our candles on shelves locally. I truly believe people love that they’re made right here by little old me. If you know of a Boutique/Business that would be interested in stocking my candles or jewelry – please let me know!
And yesterday — February 14th — marked ONE YEAR since we officially launched Benson Wood & Wicks. Roll out the Confetti, party blowers and champagne!! 🎉🍾
I completely neglected to post the memory (classic busy entrepreneur move), but wow… what a year it has been. Growth, challenges, lessons, connections, and so much gratitude.🙏
We truly appreciate your continued support. If you’ve purchased, shared, liked, commented, or told a friend about us — thank you. Word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising for a small business, and your recommendation means everything.
What’s Coming Next
I’ve been busy in the “laboratory” experimenting with new candle scents — and I have 3 (maybe 4!) dropping soon. And new jars. I am VERY excited about these.
Make sure you:
- Follow our social media pages (BWW and Vanessa's Bloom Boutique)
- Share our products with your circle
- Shop and support local
Big things are coming — slowly, steadily, and with heart.
Stay strong friends — the warm weather is coming.
Much love,
🩵V ~
