Life Lately – Busy Bees in the Workshop & Beyond

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve sat down to write about what we’ve been up to, and let me tell you—we’ve been busy! Even though things have been a little quiet on social media, life behind the scenes has been anything but.

May started off with birthday celebrations for both Jesse and me, and the fun hasn’t slowed down since. Olivia’s been running her heart out in track and field, and we pulled off a surprise 70th birthday bash for Mama Ann—such a special moment!

One of my favorite recent memories was going to the Meagan Moroney concert with Olivia and some friends. Watching the girls light up with happiness and sing their hearts out was the absolute best. Meanwhile, Jesse went on his annual fishing opener trip with his high school buddies—this year they hit up Mille Lacs. They caught their limit of walleye and made some fresh memories. I love that they’ve been doing this every year since 2003. Traditions like that are gold.

Brigg has also started a lawn care business too so if you’re looking to offload that responsibility from your chores let us know and we can get you in touch with him!

In the studio, I’ve been diving deep into candle experimentation—testing out new scents and wicks to get the perfect hot throw. It’s a whole process (you candle lovers know what I mean!). I’m not quite ready to release the new scents just yet, but they’re coming—and I can’t wait to share them with you when the time is right.

We also put together four gift baskets for some local silent auction fundraisers. It was fun to curate them, and even more rewarding to support great causes. On the woodworking side, we’ve had some incredible custom projects come through lately—an 18lb end grain cutting board that was absolutely stunning, a patriotic 4’x4’ barn quilt painted in red, white, and blue, and a double Adirondack chair that turned out so cool.

And as if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also been working on getting the house ready to sell—decluttering, tackling landscaping projects, and painting the garage doors and front door. It’s a lot, but it feels good to freshen things up.

The weather is warming up, the days are longer, and my heart is so happy. We’re still here, still creating, still dreaming—just doing it a little more quietly at the moment. But I promise, I’ll get better about keeping y’all in the loop.

Until next time,

❤️  V ~
