Benson Board Butter

Applying board butter to a wood cutting board serves several important purposes.  It penetrates the wood fibers, preventing it from drying out, cracking, or warping over time.

A protected board is less likely to absorb water, which can lead to swelling, mold, or bacteria growth.  Not only does it enhance durability by adding a protective top layer that helps resist stains, odors, and knife marks, it also brings out the natural beauty of your unique wood piece giving it a warm, rich appearance.  

A properly treated board is easier to clean and less likely to harbor bacteria compared to untreated wood.

For optimal care, we recommend you apply our Benson Board Butter to your handcrafted cutting board every 3 to 4 weeks, or whenever the board starts to look dry or feels rough. 

If you use your cutting board daily or wash it frequently, you may need to reapply more often.
